Lessig Raises Awareness for Fair Elections in Raleigh

June 23, 2010

This week, Lawrence Lessig is in North Carolina to raise awareness about fair elections.

He started his trip in Raleigh yesterday, and began the day at the North Carolina General Assembly, meeting with a bi-partisan group of 15 state lawmakers.

After that, he spoke to over 100 people who had participated in North Carolina Common Cause's annual Lobby Day. Some state legislators were in attendance as well, and one state senator made reference to the importance of Lessig's message in a subsequent committee meeting on campaign finance reform.

Following his meeting and presentation at the General Assembly, Lessig spoke to 65 members of the local business community at Campbell University Law School.

He had some great conversations with audience members after the presentation.

After Campbell University, Lessig spoke with Clayton Henkel from NC Policy Watch. Video and article here.

To wrap up the day, Lessig attended a dinner with North Carolinian proponents of fair elections.

Thanks to everyone in Raleigh for a successful day!
